One day, out of sheer frustration, I asked my boys,

start our own clothing line?!

As a proud advocate for embracing one's uniqueness, I've spent countless hours searching for chic clothing for my boys, who love athletic outfits like tracksuits. They come in different ages, sizes, and unique personalities, which means finding versatile and stylish clothing that suits various body types has always been a challenge. My biggest frustration was never finding a single shop that offered a good selection of chic, versatile, and affordable clothing for different body types.
1. Naming
Brand
Finding a name for the brand was the next part. Wanting to include aspects of our rich African heritage in our brand, we embarked on a fascinating journey through our cultural history.
After exploring several great options, we selected the name that best reflected the brand’s “mum/mother of…” tone. The clear front runner was Nahnyonga (the mother of Bali Nyonga).
In homage to this and as a tribute to those who proudly gave me these names, I incorporated my other name into it. For a final touch of finesse, we decided to give a bow to one of the world’s most iconic cities and our ground zero.
And there it is – Ninyonga (pronounced Ni/nyon/ga) London was born in 2021!

Then came the challenge of creating luxurious, fashionable, and versatile outfits for boys.
From design to material selection (who knew there were so many varieties of any one fabric?!), through to proofing for size
comfort, fit and even down to stitching, we meticulously went through everything to ensure we got it right, first time!
When you buy Ninyonga London, you can be sure that the fit is just right, it is super comfortable and best of all, so versatile that it can be worn on its own, or paired with any outfit for even the pickiest fashionista!

The journey to get here, although filled with twists and snags, was a beautiful challenge, full of laughter and fun.
With the amazing support of family, the brilliant guidance of a very patient mentor, and commendable partners (suppliers, manufacturers, etc.), we launched our Grench and Grenchier ranges in 2022 - our prêt-à-porter range designed with our boys, for yours. And, of course, everyone is welcome!
